Most older adults rely primarily upon monthly benefits from Social Security to provide for their basic needs, and upon programs such as Medicare and MediCal to cover medical expenses. Problems related to these benefits can easily create a crisis in the life of an elder. This presentation will offer a brief overview of the benefits that are available, basic eligibility requirements, and how to get help with benefits problems.
SALA is a non-profit elder law office that provides free legal services to Santa Clara County residents that are age 60 or older. There is no income eligibility qualification to use SALA’s services.
