Job Type: 6-month project-based contract with potential for extension
Hours: From date of hire to 2/25/2025, the employee is expected to work 20 hours per week. Ramadan Hours: During Ramadan, the employee is expected to work 40 hours per week, as per Manager’s requirements.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Manager to oversee all Ramadan-related operations at the Muslim Community Association. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects, managing volunteers and teams, and ensuring the smooth execution of Ramadan activities, including prayers, community events, iftar, and Eid planning. This role requires a detail-oriented, creative, and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all Ramadan logistics, including overflow crowd control and parking arrangements with neighboring business lots.
- Collaborate with the Executive Board to schedule Ramadan programs at MCA and Al-Noor and ensure proper support.
- Work with functional area managers to plan and manage Ramadan staffing needs for areas such as janitorial and security.
- Organize daily iftar logistics, including meal distribution, setup, and vendor tables.
- Work with the IT Committee to ensure optimal performance of audio systems and other technical setups for prayer and events.
- Coordinate community iftar events, determining timing and logistics with board approval.
- Create and manage an issue tracker to resolve any problems that arise during Ramadan.
- Plan suhoor events for the last 10 nights, managing logistics and coordination with the Social Committee.
- Work with the Women’s Committee to organize babysitting services for taraweeh and other night prayers.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, management, and task assignments across all Ramadan activities.
- Oversee communications and announcements in collaboration with the board and communications committee.
- Plan key Ramadan events such as Khatm night, Grand Qiyam program, Ihtikaf, Iftars, and the Ramadan Open House.
- Lead the Eid-ul-Fitr planning, ensuring all logistics are in place for a successful celebration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Strong track record of successfully managing complex, fast-paced projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively communicate status updates to the executive board and escalate issues when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and an ability to adapt in dynamic environments.
- Experience with Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in event management, particularly within community or nonprofit settings.
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills, with a focus on driving results.
- Ability to manage volunteers and collaborate with diverse committees and teams.
- Effective communicator with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- PMP certification is a plus.
Benefits
Pay range: $30-$40/hr depending on experience
