Job Description: MCA is a non-profit religious organization servicing the needs of the Muslim community. The Ramadan Childcare Program Lead will be responsible for establishing an evening childcare program that serves the needs of 3-5 year olds who are attending the mosque with their parents during Ramadan evenings. The Ramadan Childcare Program Lead is responsible for developing the curriculum for the program, managing and supervising the childcare team, and organizing activities that are designed to engage and improve the faith of our youngest mosque attendees.
Job Duties:
- Create an engaging curriculum for the Ramadan Childcare Program to follow nightly.
- Provide a welcoming environment to young children and parents attending the program by connecting with the attendees, communicating our community culture, and assessing ongoing needs.
- Make logistical preparations including purchasing the needed materials for crafts etc.
- Supervise the registration volunteers and childcare staff to ensure adequate and timely supervision each night.
- Monitor program budget and track expenses as well as maintain timesheets for all childcare staff.
- Be available as a point of contact for any issues that arise in the Babysitting Room.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the MCA Babysitting Room.
- Take proactive measures to address any potential hazards or safety concerns.
- Build an environment that helps to strengthen and promote social and emotional growth for young children in accordance with Islamic teachings.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Must be available to work on site at MCA every evening (approx 8:00 – 10:00 pm) in Ramadan 2025
- Preferred 3+ years of experience in childcare and early childhood curriculum development
- Good interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills as well as active listening and facilitation skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated leadership experience including managing and leading a team, addressing situations, and facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Leadership skills (ability to assess and manage situations with confidence, visibility and approachability).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
Pay will be hourly ($25-$28) per hour, commensurate with experience.
