MCA’s programs for men, women, and boys fitness have not yet resumed post-pandemic. However, a number of local groups host fitness activities, including:

  • Muslim Women’s Basketball
    This group meets regularly, twice a week. Please request to be subscribed to the whatsapp group by contacting reem.rahman@mcabayarea.org.

Wellness

MCA aims to provide programs and services based on Islamic teachings to build a healthier, stronger Muslim community that will bring out the best in individuals and families through focusing on all aspects of personal and family wellness including spiritual, emotional, mental and physical.

Islamic Counseling is based on the teaching of the Glorious Quran and the hadith of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It emphasizes spiritual development as the cornerstone for healing and prevention of future problems.

The Bay Area Muslim Mental Health Professionals is a network of Muslim-identified mental health providers and students whose focus is to link the local Muslim community with psychological support and resources. Our network includes licensed Muslim psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists, among more. Our combined specialties include but are not limited to parenting support, depression, anxiety, youth issues, substance use, trauma, marital and pre-marital counseling, personal development, and more. We understand that seeking psychological support can be a big step, and that it is important for many to feel that their counselor is mindful of their religious and cultural background.
